President Marseille, 23 February 2007
Topic: INTERVENTION IN A MATTER OF RECONSIDERATION OF THE LAWSUIT AND CANCELLATION OF THE DEATH SENTENCES ON PURPOSE LIBERATION OF YOUR NURSES, SENTENCED IN LIBYA. Dear Mrs. Director, I do witness my involvement as well as the one of the members of our Commissions, concerning the important mission trusted to us, through you, by the members of the families and the relatives of the nurses. This mission is honor for us and more than ever the destiny of the nurses is a part of our main and most important deeds. We do insist to calm the relatives, the families and the friends of the nurses, but mostly the medics themselves. I contacted the Libyan authorities on purpose to be welcomed personally by the President of Libya. It is obvious, that a large country as Libya and its respected President, colonel al-Gaddafi, know, that the history of the interrelations between the nations and the people is being written with the truth and the common sense. The Drama we witness today does not make happy anybody. Nobody can glorify himself or to be proud of it. Nobody would want this drama to remain a stigma in the history of Peace between the nations of the new peaceful generation. This is what I have written in addition to the petition, made by the members of the French Senate, by Mrs. Patricia Schillinger - Senator and President of the Standing Advisory Committee of the Parliamentarians in Communities of Nations for Peace and Mr. Lillian Zanchi – Deputy and Vice President of the same committee. Each one of the 12 Standing Advisory Committees of our Organization will sign a similar petition in addition to the petition on a national level, in France, as well as on an international one through the Deputations in the Standing Delegations of our Organization in the different countries. This open petition can be seen on our Internet site: http://www.communespourlapaix.org/, The situation of the medics in Libya was discussed on a plenary meeting of the French Senate. The discussion was started by Mr. Robert Badinter, senator, speaker of the Standing Advisory Committee of the Parliamentarians. Here is the message, which I address to everybody in connection to my appeal for solidarity and charity. To the nations, men, women and children of Libya and Bulgaria without distinction of your faith and religion. To all men and women of all countries, which desire Peace and Solidarity. BECAUSE WE ALL SUFFER FROM THIS THAT ОUR HEARTS BLEED. And today we all have the opportunity to write together in the history of Peace one whole new page of dignity, honor and humanity. Because WE DESERVE PEACE. Today the Libyan people and their President, Colonel Al-Gaddafi have the chance to leave in history one of the greatest examples of belief in life and people, in the name of Peace. Because, ANGER IS NOT DEATH President of the Standing Advisory Committee of Justice, Freedom and Equality of chances of our Organization and with Mr. Jean-Francois Penel – our Secretary-General in purpose to meet the families and the relatives of the nurses, as well as with the authorities of your country. President General Secretary Albert KONAN-KOFFI Jean-Francois PENEL
