A masterpiece of British Victorian artist is the big prize in the fakes raffle

10 fans buy the paintings at 50% of their price

R. Doncheva from Varna won the grand prize in the spring raffle for fake masterpieces. The famous Italian artist Daniele Donde, Professor and Doctor of modern and contemporary art, and his business partner Dr. Koycho Belchev opened another unique exhibition of fakes in the lobby of Grand Hotel `Dimyat`, Varna, on March 17th. This time they had prepared a spring surprise for the Varna art fans. Anyone who visited the exhibition till March 22nd, received a number for a special lottery. It was drawed in 6 pm on March 22nd by the 6-year-old Martin in the presence of nearly 100 people - journalists, politicians, business representatives and public figures. The first 10 lucky ones whose numbers were drawn, received a coupon for 50 percent discount when buying a painting from the exhibition. The Grand Prize - a copy of the painting `Meeting` (`Ask me no more`) by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, was won by R. Doncheva. She repeatedly visited the fakes exhibitions and `Ask me no more` is one of the pictures that had greater impact on her. The spring surprise of Prof. Donde and Dr. Belchev gave her a chance to own it too.

Sir Lawrence Alma - Tadema is the most popular British Victorian artist who created a series of paintings with historical themes. He was left behind by his fans at the end of his career, but the interest in his work was revived again in the 60s of the XXth century. Some Hollywood directors even use his paintings for scenery in their movies /`The Ten Commandments`, `Gladiator`/. Nowadays, Alma-Tadema reached his apogee - now the sales of his paintings are comparable to those of Matisse, Gauguin and Picasso.

The canvases sold at the world auction for millions, became available, and often are owned too by compatriots of us, thanks to the exhibitions organized by Prof. Donde and Dr. Belchev. The prices of the unique fakes of masterpieces by Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Lautrec Tulus are available to every lover of the painting. The pictures are accompanied by certificates proving their uniqueness and their origins - the Academy of Professor Donde in Lugano.

At the exhibition in hotel `Dimyat` except the popular impressionists and famous Bulgarian masters of the brush, the organizers also presented copies of paintings by Ivan Shishkin, Ivan Aivazovsky and Egon Schiele. With his own works was presented Prof. Donde too. The exhibition will be open for visitors in Varna until March 27th.
